Buddhism
Buddhism is an ancient religion that enjoys great popularity in Asia. Japan is no exception to this rule, where this spiritual path is known as bukkyo. Shakyamuni Gautama, in India, founded it in the fifth century B.C. Gautama is commonly known as the Buddha. Central to its teachings are the abandonment of desire and the realization of non-attachment.
