do chu no sei
Do is “movement,” while sei equates to “calmness.” Do chu no sei is a phrase describing “stillness in motion.” In other words, calmness in the midst (chu) of action. When various ways, such as the martial arts or the tea ceremony, are depicted as being “moving meditation,” it is this quality that’s being indicated.
